I just have to write how wonderful it was to watch Scarlet's reaction to the fireworks display. We just got back (Mayfield Village holds theirs on July 5th). She was in awe at the start...the beginning fireworks are a little slower coming up and during each pause, she was signing and saying "more, more"
Then, as they were going, Scarlet started looking around at all the people and waving hi. If several went off at the same time, she laughed and squealed out loud. She began to sit down and then stand up and do that again and again. It was as though she could not contain the excitement in herself. She ran to Dan several times just to give him a kiss and then head back in another direction. She would stand up and dance, then sit down and bounce her body around while sitting.
When the excitement was bubbling out of her too much, she started trying to walk off away from us. We had to stop her and ask Scarlet to come back to us. Then, she started taking 1 step and looking back at us (to see if we were watching her sneak away).
The finale, amazing. Scarlet was making noise--almost yelling by the end. She was absolutely excited and loved the fireworks going and going. When it ended, she was very upset and wanted more. It was so much fun for Dan and I to witness our beautiful Scarlet enjoying Dan's favorite holiday!
